Bringing together the knowledge and the experience of nine different wine-elaborating cooperatives with different Origin Denominations from Catalonia, and the labour carried out by their vine-growers, technicians and oenologists, Castell d'Or produces wines, cavas and olive oils which have earned great recognition all over the world.

MODERNISM
ART

The cellar from l'Espluga de Francolí was named Catedral del Vi (Wine Cathedral) by the catalan writer Àngel Guimerà. This denomination was soon used for other cellars built at the beginning of the 20th century by architects such Cèsar Martinell, follower of Antoni Gaudí, and Domenech i Montaner and his son Pere Domènech Roura.

Deep dark red with a violet border, very brilliant.

In the nose most notable are the ripe red fruits, slight balsamic touches, vanilla and spices.

Full in the mouth, fresh and balanced, with an abundance of mature tanning and good acidity.

A highly concentrated, fresh wine, with acidity well-integrated, producing an interesting balance between its wine qualities and its great structure.

A wine whose qualities ensure a very good evolution in the bottle, if kept in optimum conditions.

Of rugged and abrupt contours, and with a climate of great contrasts, the Montsant mountain range produces wines of great character whose origin stems from the craft and skill of the monks in the Middle Ages.
