Bringing together the knowledge and the experience of nine different wine-elaborating cooperatives with different Origin Denominations from Catalonia, and the labour carried out by their vine-growers, technicians and oenologists, Castell d'Or produces wines, cavas and olive oils which have earned great recognition all over the world.

MODERNISM
ART

The cellar from l'Espluga de Francolí was named Catedral del Vi (Wine Cathedral) by the catalan writer Àngel Guimerà. This denomination was soon used for other cellars built at the beginning of the 20th century by architects such Cèsar Martinell, follower of Antoni Gaudí, and Domenech i Montaner and his son Pere Domènech Roura.

Visual examination

Cherry red, the most intense of colours for a cava which is fruity, fresh and daring. Which evokes a summer night, the sea and the fiesta. A brilliant natural colour obtained from the best variety of local grapes for the creation of a good cava, which endows it with character even before it reaches the glass.

Complex aromas which wisely blend the fruity tones of the Trepat variety.

The cellar of Barberà de la Conca, is known as one of the ‘Cathedrals of Wine’ due to its monumental style, designed by the architect Cèsar Martinell, and is a perfect example of the purist modernist style whi ch abounds in the cellars of the Conca de Barberà.
